Our Story and FAQ

Our Story

POTTEE was born out of necessity.

When I moved in with my partner, her two cats came with her. I loved the cats, but not the smell. The litter box made parts of our home nearly unlivable.

We tried everything: high-walled boxes, covered boxes, even a DIY cabinet designed to contain odors. Nothing
worked. One cat still managed to urinate over the edge, and the smell always came back.

So, I decided to build something better.

We set out to create the ultimate litter box, one that was durable, easy to clean, odor-resistant, and actually designed for how cats behave. After multiple prototypes, POTTEE was born.

A sleek, stainless steel litter box built to last, clean effortlessly, and eliminate the problems we couldn’t solve with anything else on the market.

It completely changed our home. No more lingering odors. No more scraping stuck litter. No more frustration.

And honestly, it even made life with our cats better.

That’s why we built POTTEE. And that’s what we hope it does for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is POTTEE different from traditional litter boxes?

Traditional litter boxes scratch easily, trapping bacteria and odors. POTTEE is made from solid stainless steel,
which resists deep scratches and does not harbor bacteria, keeping your litter box cleaner and fresher.

Can I use POTTEE without a lid?

Most litter boxes lose wall height when used without a lid. POTTEE maintains full-height walls even without the lid, giving your cat an open-box option without sacrificing containment.

Is it actually easier to clean?

Short answer, absolutely. Plastic boxes absorb odors and get scratched, making them impossible to fully clean. POTTEE’s stainless steel surface allows for deep, aggressive cleaning. Scrub it as much as you want without damage.

How long does it last?

Plastic litter boxes typically need replacing every 1–2 years. POTTEE is built from durable stainless steel and is designed to last a lifetime.

What about cats that pee high or over the edge?

Many cats urinate above the rim of standard litter boxes. POTTEE’s tall walls are designed to prevent leaks and keep everything contained.

Will litter still get kicked out?

Low entry points allow cats to push litter out onto your floor. POTTEE features a higher entry to significantly reduce litter scatter.

Are there other metal litter boxes like this?

POTTEE is the first fully stainless steel, enclosed litter box of its kind.

What about seams and trapped urine?

Most plastic litter boxes have seams that trap urine and create odor. POTTEE is a seamless, one-piece design with no cracks, no buildup, no smell.

Can my cat see inside in low light?

Cats can struggle to see in dark spaces, leading to messes. POTTEE includes built-in lighting to help your cat see clearly and stay clean, even in closets or basements.

How do I know when it needs cleaning?

Enclosed boxes make it hard to visually check cleanliness. POTTEE’s lighting allows for quick visual inspection with no touching or guessing required.

Is it easy to carry and empty?

Many litter boxes are awkward and messy to handle. POTTEE includes large, ergonomic handles for easy transport and emptying.

Why not just use an automatic litter box?

Automatic boxes are expensive, hard to clean, and prone to breaking. POTTEE has no moving parts, no expensive repairs, and a simple, easy-to-clean design that just works.
